Community Integration Specialist in Music

Lively friendly man is looking for a patient, musical person to help him participate in a piano or a keyboarding class on an evening or weekend, and/or to help him practice for next class. Knowledge of keyboard instruments required.  Prior work with people with special needs is not required but an interest or background in teaching music is preferable. Looking for 2 hours a week. Times are flexible depending on course schedule, and schedule of individual and support staff.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following tasks:

  •    Assist him to develop positive social interactions with his community, including students and with teachers
  •    Assist him in class participation and in learning and practicing music.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Prior experience a plus, but not essential. We are seeking candidates who enjoy active, "people-oriented" work and are sensitive to the needs and preferences of people with disabilities. 

Salary: $25.00 per hour, non-exempt for overtime
